tidbits from Jiangxi, China

Hi all...a hodge-podge of things floating around in my head. Thought I'd share:

-Kennedy is in her crib tonight. Rule of thumb: don't try to lay her down AFTER she's fallen asleep. Serious crying ensues...if you put her down happy, she may only need reassurance once or twice to settle. She fights sleep desperately. It takes her awhile, but once she's out, she's out cold!

-Marvin and I cannot get over the day she had today. Nothing but laughing and smiles. If this is her overall personality coming out, all I can say is WOW!

-She's starting sticking her fingers in her ears today. We'll keep an eye on that...she wasn't fussy at all so we'll keep our fingers crossed that it's nothing.

-She sucks the pointer finger on each hand...one at a time, which ever is closer. It is very cute. Only does this when she's tired. I sucked my thumb until grade 6...hope she doesn't keep it up that long.

-She is now ASLEEP in her crib and Daddy is asleep on the bed. Double knock-out.

-Yes, my friends, there is Pepsi in Nanchang...both can and plastic bottle...as usual, the can is better.

-Our hotel is 5 star and very nice here in Nanchang (which is in the province of Jiangxi). On Friday, we head back to Beijing...

-I just can't explain how much all these messages have meant to us. Besides looking at my daughter, it is the best part of my day when I read those messages. We feel so much love heading our way, it makes being so far away much easier. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are TOTALLY feeling the love.

this is the lobby of our hotel...beautiful!

    Marvin, Carolyn and Kennedy,

    Michelle Johnson here,
Marvin probably knows my husband Kenny, and Kim and some other Greenfiled gals take scrapbooking classes from me, I also have a daughter in Greenfield who's friends with Sopie Betts, so lots of connections, that's how I know your story......plus it's Summerside, what more can I say???

I've been reading your blog because it is a heartwarming experience that could enlighten ANYONE'S day. I'm a mom too, so I can just feel the joy right through your video. Your daughter is simply beautiful. I'm so glad you are seeing the giggles and laughs. She has a contented look about her! Wait till you start throwing some pink on her, too cute!!!!.
I was so excited when my daughter Hailey came home from school yesterday, so I could show her Mrs Clow's new baby girl. She says to me, Mom, I've already seen this today at school! (Kinda like you are sooo behind in the news) So much for my surprise..
The teachers are so thrilled and excited, they shared with all students yesterday.
It's so evident that you have great support at Greenfield School!!
There are more people than you can even imagine who are thinking of your family and are praying for safe travels for you all.

    God bless,
    Michelle Johnson

Hey girlfriend...love the fact that there is Pepsi in a can (is there Diet Pepsi too?) and the Hotel looks awesome, that is so nice! I like reading all the random thoughts in your head....too cute I can just hear you. I can picture Kennedy sucking on just those two fingers...what a doll. I Love her more and more...wait till I see her in person!
    Love you all,
    Jen

Caroly, Marvin and of course Kennedy,
Hello from Moncton, it's Sandra, Trudy's sister. Just wanted to tell you how happy I am for the "three" of you. Your daughter is simply beautiful and what a great laugh/smile she has. I am hoping that someday I will be at Trudy's when a playdate is going on with Kennedy. You are in my thoughts. Travel safe and happy returns to PEI.

Well I'm happy to hear that she has gained an appetite back. I guess it's true what they used to say to us, "They'll let you know when they are hungry".
The hotel looks amazing. It is huge!
I haven't gotten a peek at the videos yet, Shane is the technical one and he is out of town so tonight when he calls I'm gonna get him to talk me through it. I can hardly wait! I gather by some of the comments I'd better crack open a new bok of kleenex!
Hope you are finding some rest for yourself! I keep hearing that Marvin and Kennedy are sleeping and was wondering if you are able to get some shut eye.
Send a hello to the Stetsons for us!
    Hugs

So glad to hear that she's a happy girl! The pictures are adorable, and it's making my days to see them, and read about your journey. Mine is still ages away, but it's so inspiring to see that it really does happen!
By the way, I loved your message to your students/colleagues -- I can't wait until I can post a similar message to my students!

We know that Lobby! Wish we were with you so we could see Kennedy close up! She's sooooo cute!! Fascinated with those toes - she's probably never seen those little feet without 2 or more layers on them!
Loving reading and watching your posts and videos.
Enjoy the +26 degrees while we freeze in -26 degree weather here - ugh.
